My aquatint etching, 'DeWinton's Pool', has won The Allied Artists of America Gold Medal of Honor.  The 95th Annual Exhibition is now open at The National Arts Club in New York City.  DeWinton's Pool is on Quebec's Grande Cascapedia River which still has some of

the best salmon fishing in the world. The pool is named after the Prince of Wales' Private Secretary who fished there in the early 20th century.   Exhibition dates are November 14 -December 2, 2008.

Eagle Hill Foundation—Humboldt Field Research Station

This past August I was awarded an Artist Residency at The Humboldt Field Research Station—Eagle Hill Foundation in Steuben, Maine.  Next August-September, 2009, I will be offering two workshops at Eagle Hill.  The first is landscape painting from August 30 - September 5 and the second is printmaking from September 6-12.  Eagle Hill is about twenty minutes from Acadia National Park and the landscape/seascape and bird life are fantastic.  You can visit their website at www.eaglehill.us to learn more about other classes and the foundation.  Class descriptions and registration will be posted on their website in spring, 2009.

The United States Library of Congress is acquiring two of my etchings for their Fine Print Permanent Collection.  The etchings, ‘Goldeneyes’ and ‘Ibises at Sunset’, are included in the recently published book, The American Sporting Print:  20th Century Etchers & Drypointists by John T. Ordeman, shown at right.
